Dr. Greenwald brings more than 25 years of veterinary experience and a wealth of knowledge in internal medicine, ultrasonography, echocardiography, emergency medicine, Animal Rehabilitation including Chiropractic and Acupuncture along with veterinary forensics. She graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000 after earning her bachelor’s degree in Fisheries and Wildlife from Michigan State University.
Throughout her career, Dr. Greenwald has cared for a wide variety of patients in both general practice and emergency settings. She particularly enjoys helping critically ill pets and working alongside their families to get them back to feeling their best. She believes strongly that pet owners should understand what is happening with their pets and has always made client education an important part of her approach to veterinary medicine.
Her passion for teaching extends beyond the exam room. Dr. Greenwald has served as an adjunct professor, teaching Human Anatomy and Physiology and Microbiology, and helped establish Michigan’s first private-practice veterinary pharmacy rotation for pharmacy students.
Dr. Greenwald also holds a Master’s degree in Veterinary Forensics and has worked closely with Grand Traverse Animal Control. Her background in wildlife has given her opportunities to work with raptors through Wings of Wonder and the Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa and Chippewa Indians.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Greenwald enjoys life on her farm with her wife, Heather, where they care for cattle, pigs, chickens, goats along with beekeeping!.
